Ducks

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.
When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!"
So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.
Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw.
St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"
The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.
The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps.
She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on ... very tall, long eyelashes, muscular, and thin.
St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.
The happy woman says, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"
The guy says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck!"

Water sports

It is very ironical: I love swimming and diving, however, I get motion sickness very easily. I am not particulary keen on riding on boats that are powered by a motor or the jet ski that Dan is so crazy about. I am content with a row boat or just stay on the beach. The two weekends in my mother-in-law's cottage again prove that I feel better when I am "in control" of what I am doing. Motor and I don't really mix. However, Dan loves many water sports, look at him water ski, I don't have the urge to do that at all. Dan took me for a ride on the jet ski, did not enjoy it, he went up to 45 mph and I could barely open my eyes, what's fun about it? I don't get it, but he likes it. I guess it is a male vs. female thing.

My birthday

August 15 was my birthday, I don't mind sharing that I am officially 43 years old. After living all these years, the Lord has given me more than I can think of: a husband, a daughter, good health, and He even lets me serve him in many ways. Don't know how many more years I will live, but I am so blessed with what I have. If the Lord were to take me home to be with him, I trust that He will also take care of all that He has given me.

Celebrating my 43rd birthday at my mother-in-law's house.

Kioni and daddy

Cousin Ethan looked on while Kioni helped me blow the candles out.

You could tell Kioni really wanted that ice-cream cake, but she only took two bites. She does not like sweets much.

Faithfulness reminded

Today a report in Foxnews.com once again remind us of how God has provided for us in the selling of our townhome:

WASHINGTON — Sales of previously owned homes plunged in July to the lowest level in 2 1/2 years and the inventory of unsold homes climbed to a new record high, fresh signs that the housing market has lost steam.

The National Association of Realtors reported Wednesday that sales of existing homes and condominiums dropped by 4.1 percent in July from June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.33 million. That was the lowest level since January 2004.

We sold our house in July in nine days, now the news went back and look at July and found out that most people had a hard time selling their house. What a wonderful thing God has done for us!

今天的新聞報導有這?一段報導:今年七月的舊樓出售準是兩年半來的最低點。這再一次提醒了我們神的信實。我們就是在七月售樓最低點的時候在九天?賣了房子。神的信實為我們行了奇事。

TV and other things

I love certain shows on US TV, like the Food channel, Court TV, etc, I start to miss those TV shows because I probably won't be watching for quite a long while. But I am sure I will find something good like that to watch in Cebu. It is funny how you can get use to certain shows, well, yes, hooked to certain shows, without even knowing it. I am glad that I am the type of person that could do two things at the same time. Watch TV and work on the computer, watch TV and knit, etc., so I can multiply my time. I tried to study for Hebrew final exam and watch TV at the same time when I was in seminary, that didn't work too well, I did not become a Hebrew expert, but I did pass the exam.
